Pumpkin Soup

Pumpkin Soup
Children’s Picture Book
1998

With autumn here, Pumpkin Soup by Helen Cooper is a lovely seasonal story to enjoy with children. The beautiful illustrations and warm autumn colours make it perfect for this time of year.

Deep in the woods, Cat, Squirrel and Duck live happily together and make their pumpkin soup in exactly the same way every day. But when Duck decides that he wants to stir the soup instead of adding the salt, their peaceful routine suddenly turns into an argument. What follows is a charming story about friendship, sharing and learning how to compromise.

It’s a wonderful book to read together on a cosy autumn day – especially with a bowl of pumpkin soup nearby.
