The Treasure Trove team provides reading lists throughout the year to highlight selected titles and to encourage reading of quality literature by young people and children. Hopefully the lists will also stimulate discussion and the sharing of ideas between friends and siblings - young book groups in the making! Reading lists are an excellent way to encourage children to try out books that they may not have noticed on the shelves. They can also help them to plan which titles they would like to read and encourage them to start, or add to their own book collections.
Our three Summer Reading Lists were a great success and are still available in the store. These bring together recommended books for three age ranges: 5-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds and teenage readers. The lists are varied and include a wide range of books; old favourites, brand new titles, well-known series with recent additions, as well as lesser known books that are well worth discovering.
We would really welcome feedback on the books suggested - write us a short article to display in the store, or send us your opinions so that we can include them in the newsletter.
